LinkedIn automation tools: how to choose (UK guide)
A plain comparison of the main tools that send LinkedIn connection requests and follow-ups for you, what kind of tool each one is, and the questions a UK professional should ask before choosing.
First, decide what you need
Most of these tools do the same core job: send connection requests to people you choose, then follow up once they accept. They differ in where they run, how fast they send, how much they write for you, and who they are built for.
If you're a UK professional, such as an accountant, solicitor or consultant, the questions that matter most are usually about care rather than volume.
- Does it run in my own browser, on the vendor's servers, or as a program on my computer?
- Do I write every message, or does the tool write them?
- Can it check my client records first, so existing clients are never approached?
- Can I keep a never-contact list that it always respects?
- How many requests does it send a day, and can I pause it at any time?
- Does it ask for my LinkedIn password?
- Does it keep a record I could show my firm or a regulator?
The main tools, in alphabetical order
Descriptions come from each company's own website, checked on 2 November 2026. Plans and features change, so check the vendor's site before you choose. We make Mahleon, and we have tried to describe every tool as its maker does.
- Dripify: a cloud-based tool that runs outreach sequences on LinkedIn, aimed at sales teams.
- Dux-Soup: one of the longest-running LinkedIn outreach tools, with a Chrome add-on and a cloud option, for individuals, teams and agencies.
- Expandi: a cloud-based tool for LinkedIn and email campaigns, with a campaign builder aimed at sales teams, recruiters and agencies.
- HeyReach: a cloud-based tool built for agencies and teams that run many LinkedIn sender accounts from one place.
- Linked Helper: a desktop program that runs on your own computer, with a long list of LinkedIn actions and daily limits you set.
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator: LinkedIn's own paid tool for finding and saving people. It does not send outreach for you, but most of the tools here work alongside it.
- Mahleon: a Chrome add-on and web app, built in London for UK professionals. You write every connection note and follow-up in your own words and check each person before anything is sent; it sends a few invitations a day from your own LinkedIn account, and an optional Salesforce check and a never-contact list keep the wrong people out.
- MeetAlfred: a tool for outreach across LinkedIn, email and X.
- Octopus CRM: a Chrome add-on for LinkedIn outreach, aimed at agencies, sales teams and recruiters.
- Waalaxy: a LinkedIn and email outreach tool. Its help centre says it moved fully to the cloud in 2026 and removed its Chrome add-on.
Browser add-on, cloud tool or desktop program?
A browser add-on works inside the LinkedIn you are already signed in to, on your usual device. A cloud tool runs on the vendor's servers, so it keeps going when your laptop is closed, but it usually needs access to your LinkedIn session. A desktop program runs on your own computer while it is switched on.
None of these is automatically safe or unsafe. Read LinkedIn's rules on third-party software before using any of them, and keep your pace modest.
When Mahleon is a good fit, and when it is not
Mahleon suits people whose name is on every message: professionals and small firms who want help with the sending and the reminders but not with the words. It works with Salesforce only, and the Salesforce check is optional.
If you need many sender accounts run from one dashboard, email sequences in the same tool, or very high daily volume, one of the other tools above will suit you better.
Questions
Which LinkedIn outreach tool is best for UK professionals?
It depends on how careful you need to be. If existing clients must never be approached and every message must be in your own words, look for a client-record check, a never-contact list and a modest daily pace. Mahleon is built around those three things; other tools put more weight on volume and multi-account features.
Does LinkedIn allow these tools?
LinkedIn's rules on third-party software cover tools that automate activity on the site. Read them before choosing any tool, and use any tool modestly.
Do I need Sales Navigator?
No. Sales Navigator helps you find people; it does not send outreach. Many people use it alongside one of the tools on this page.
